CPAP vs BIPAP

CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) and BiPAP (Bi-level positive airway pressure) are often confused, which is understandable given they look very similar when the patient is using them.

In these two videos we explain the difference between type I and type II respiratory failure, and then the difference between CPAP and BIPAP, and when they're each useful for managing patients with respiratory problems.
