Why subscribe to Anaestheasier?

Who are we?

A group of anaesthetic registrars in the UK who love teaching, and wanted to make anaesthetics more approachable and easier to understand for those who are keen to learn.

We're here to answer one question:

"What do I need to know at this stage in my career?"

For everyone, at every stage of their anaesthetic career.

It doesn't matter whether you're a:

  • Medical student
  • Foundation Doctor
  • Anaesthetic trainee
  • Paramedic
  • Nurse
  • Allied health professional
  • Consultant
  • Just interested in anaesthetics

We're building everything you need, all in one place.

It's free to subscribe

The vast majority of our content is completely free, and we offer a paid subscription option to those who'd like the extra benefit and convenience of exam-curated material sent right to your inbox (for less than a cup of coffee per week).

If you are a medical student, or foundation doctor interested in anaesthetics, don't pay to subscribe to anaestheasier.com yet, unless you really just want to send us money.

Everything you need for now is totally free - sign up as a free member to stay in the loop.

The paid membership becomes valuable once you're an anaesthetic trainee looking at sitting exams.

We're not just a question bank or online textbook - we're an anaesthetic registrar in your pocket, here to help however we can.

Making it sustainable.

There are a huge number of absolutely brilliant resources online providing incredibly high quality information, videos and graphics entirely for free.

  • So why on earth would we create another one?

The vast majority of them have the same issue - they stopped creating.

At some point along the line the work became (understandably) unsustainable, as the authors progressed through their training, took on new responsibilities, had less time and therefore couldn't maintain (or justify) the same level of output, and we didn't want to fall into the same trap.

💡
We needed to make sure Anaestheasier was not just a passion, but a sustainable business as well.

We thought long and hard about how to make Anaestheasier sustainable.

There are several options for this kind of business:

  • Advertising
  • Sponsorship deals
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Subscription options

We really don't like adverts.

One of our favourite pieces of feedback was a comment on how 'clean' Anaestheasier looks, with no distractions or adverts getting in the way of the valuable material people are trying to learn.

For us, nothing ruins the experience of being on a beautiful website quite like having adverts plastered all over the place and popping up in front of you as you're trying to concentrate.

Rest assured you'll find none of that here.

Sponsorships vs Authenticity.

The second you see that a website is running sponsorship deals and promoting a brand's product or service, it casts into question whether what they're saying is authentically them, or if they're being paid to say it.

  • "My go to for obstetric intubations is always a LoPro S3"
  • sponsored by Verathon

Kinda hits a little different, no?

We have nothing against those that do use sponsorships (often very successfully), but we don't feel it's appropriate - when discussing high risk anaesthetic information, techniques and equipment - to have any doubt as to whether there is any financial bias involved.

The same goes for affiliate links, where websites take commission for referring their audience on to a third party product or service.

Everything you read here, or listen to on the podcast - is entirely us, and so if we recommend something, you know it's because we genuinely love it.
